Gift of Years: Book Study
How do you view the aging process? Is it tinged with anxiety and regret? Perhaps you see it as an adventure, a time to find meaning and a ripening, or is it a little of both? "The Gift of Years," Joan Chittister’s best-selling book, offers the chance to look at this time of maturation with fresh eyes, joy for what has been, and optimism for what is to come. This fall, Emmaus Spiritualty Center will offer an 8-week book study and discussion group, exploring the gifts of maturity and wisdom, along with opportunities to reflect upon and share experiences of varied paths to nurturing these gifts into full-flowering.
In this workshop we’ll learn and practice different approaches to recording the spiritual events in our lives and ways to preserve them to pass on to our children, grandchildren, and other significant people in our lives. Along with sharing our faith, this workshop helps us to look at how our faith has grown and still grows.

Deeper Wisdom of the Enneagram
A primary gift of Enneagram wisdom is the many layers of self-awareness and knowledge it offers. This workshop will highlight information about the three Centers of Intelligence as well as the three Stances of the Enneagram.
This workshop is an invitation to take time to nurture your mind and spirit. Together we will explore elements that create and sustain a healthy mind and spirit. For mind health you will have time to identify your stressors and how you respond to stress, and we will provide you with tools to include in your customized care plan. To nurture your spirit, we will begin with discussing spirituality and the aspects of healthy spirit as opposed to spiritual distress. Embrace the fullness of living by tending to your mind and spirit in the sacred company of others.
We hope to see you there.

Celebration of Thanksgiving
Have you ever allowed God to thank you as His faithful servant? We are called to be grateful for His blessings, yet what does it mean to fully receive His gratitude? In this workshop Joan uses Psalm 100 as the guide to receive God’s gracious “thank you.” As well as explore how this Psalm provides you with the opportunity to open your heart to thank Him for the many blessings you receive.
Have you ever wondered why more doesn’t happen when you pray to a loving, infinitely powerful Jesus who said, “Whatever you ask in my name, I will do for you” (Jn 14:13)? Although there are many explanations (e.g. we are praying for the wrong thing), the most common reason is that our image of God is not loving enough.

Spiritual Blindness
Spiritual blindness is about being unable to recognize God’s movement in your daily routine. Daily distractions blind us to God’s truth and to our own need for Him, in our lives. Explore with Joan how to recognize spiritual distractions along your journey and the ability to allow God’s grace to provide clarity of His presence.
Spiritual direction is a privileged time and place to reflect with another about your relationship with God. The focus is your life with God as it is lived out in all of your experiences. Spiritual direction is the process of coming home to your deepest self and how to live that reality with God, others and yourself.
The Emmaus Spirituality Center is committed to providing spiritual direction and programming in line with the spiritual practices of St. Ignatius.
As we look to find God in all things or explore our day through the Examen... St. Ignatius opens a beautiful pathway for us to experience a fuller relationship with our Creator.
Spiritual Exercises is a retreat experience that has the power to transform lives by drawing one into the ever-present invitation to intimacy with God. The dynamics of the Exercises provide a framework for prayer and reflection, engaging with Scripture and responding to the mystery of God, in Christ.
Guided by the notes that Ignatius of Loyola kept of his life-changing conversion experience, the director helps the retreatant to find their own unique path to inner freedom and generous service in a life centered in God's loving presence.
